Dress for the job you want. What you wear to an interview creates an image of the type of person you are, so choosing the attire that creates a positive perception is critical to presenting yourself as the right candidate for the job.

The appropriate clothing to wear depends on the industry in which you’ll be interviewing. Do research on the company beforehand and determine what type of outfit is suitable for that particular position. If you are ever in doubt, being slightly overdressed is better than looking too casual. Ensure that your clothes are cleaned and pressed and avoid wearing perfume or cologne.

Select clothing that fits properly, as clothing that does not fit well can appear scruffy. Wearing clothes that fit will help you to feel comfortable and relax in your interview.

The first impression you make on a potential employer is the most important one. The first judgement is going to be based on how you look and what you are wearing. That’s why it’s always important to dress appropriately for a job interview.
