MaxSys is currently looking for an Intermediate Aerospace Engineer for our Federal Client.
Experience:Must clearly demonstrate 3 years experience within the past 10 years in the analysis, design, development and deployment of software for the tasking and/or data processing of satellites in Earth orbit.Must clearly demonstrate 3 years experience within the past 5 years in the use of Matlab, Satellite Tool Kit, or Python for automated processing of data or scheduling of satellite operations*.
*Experience in other automated processing software may be appropriate but will require substantiation.
Some duties include:
Create automation process improvements for the existing Matlab-based scheduling algorithm for the NEOSSat Space Situational Awareness (SSA) microsatellite project, which may include designing and setting up test beds, writing code for operating and controlling subsystems, performing automated tests of small satellite maneuvers, displaying test results and verifying test results and/or make recommendations of remedial actions when necessary.
Assist in the authoring of Concept of Operations (CONOPS) documents for small satellite missions and any other SSA project documented material assigned by the Space Systems Group Leader, which may include literature review of historical documentation of small satellite missions and peer-reviewed papers, writing and reviewing technical documentation written by peers for CONOPS development or similar SSA projects, and providing recommendations when necessary.
