Our client is looking for a “BBM-NS-Business Analyst-MS” to work in Halifax.
 
JOB DESCRIPTION:
 
Overview:
Three Business Analysts to support the SharePoint Corporate Migration Project.
Customer has an enterprise SharePoint 2010 environment which is used for corporate Intranet and Document Management. This environment has reached end of life and has been updated to SharePoint 2016. The project will be to migrate selected Affiliate Team Sites to the new SharePoint 2016 environment.
 
Scope:
Migrate selected Emera Affiliate Team Sites to the new SharePoint 2016 environment
 
Role Requirements:
This project will require the following resource(s) to:
• Work with business areas to migrate their team sites into the new SharePoint 2016 environment. This includes (but is not limited to): o Facilitating requirement and content discovery sessions with business area “Site Champions” (detailed content discovery, categorization, and classification)
o Designing site, library, and list structures required to support team content
o Designing metadata and taxonomy based on recommended practices
o Designing permission structures based on recommended practices
o Identifying any custom solutions, forms, and workflows required to support team processes
o Collaborating with business resources to clean up and map content into the new team site, including mapping permissions, metadata, content types
o Complete content migration, including use of Sharegate for migrations, review with business client
o Work with the Change Manager to identify impacts, setup training, and communications with each team
o Assist with UAT and system testing
o Decommission old sites (make read-only)
• Create and update schedule, tracking progress against plan
• Collaborate with Forms Designer to ensure required business forms are identified and meet the business needs
• Provide status updates on progress to project team
 
Qualifications:
• 2+ years’ experience with Information Architecture, Information Management, Records Management
• 2+ years’ experience implementing SharePoint migrations as an IT project resource or business site administrator
• 5+ years’ experience as an IT Business Analyst o Gathering and documenting user requirements
o Facilitating requirement and design sessions
o Working with business areas on process improvement
o Tracking and reporting on deliverables
o Liaison between IT project team and business areas
o Collaborate with IT resources to ensure solution is meeting business needs
o Firm knowledge and experience with IT Testing and Release Management practices
• University or college diploma preferred
• Ability to communicate in both written and oral English at an advanced level
• Ability to use MS Word, Excel, e-Mail efficiently
• Ability to balance multiple deliverables and manage time effectively
