Our client in Banking & Finance industry is seeking a Bilingual IT – Agile Product Owner in Montreal. This is 5 months contract position.
 
Job Description
 
Responsibilities:
• Define and drive the delivery strategy of your project: scope, resources, risks and issues, and change management;
• Participate in the budgetary evaluation of certain components of the project;
• Lead the various Agile Ceremonies (planning, demo, retro, daily scrum, etc.);
• Support the Product Owner in prioritizing the backlog and its ongoing maintenance;
• Eliminate obstacles and remove impediments preventing the team’s progress;
• Ensure close collaboration between the various stakeholders;
• Actively follow, maintain and take necessary actions based on agile metrics and deliverables (velocity, burndown, burnup, defect ratios, etc.);
• Ensure the implementation of action plans defined during retrospectives and following risk assessments or impact analysis;
• Plan and follow the release process for your squad’s work;
• Ensure that the post-implantation results are satisfactory for the client;
• Manage change requests within the project;
• Align the work of the resources involved and be the interface between the various stakeholders;
• Prepare and present the progress status to the management committee.
• Act as a servant-leader for the Scrum Team by providing required coaching, helping them create high-value and high-quality output;
• Create favorable conditions for a successful team focused on the business needs priorities;
• Ensure that the team is functional, productive and that it constantly improves its productivity;

Requirements:

Experience:
• Minimum 7+ years’ experience in IT
• Minimum 5+ years’ experience as a Project Manager
• Minimum 3+ years’ experience as a Scrum Master
 
Must-Haves:
• Experience in IT Agile development projects and application of agile principles in a Scrum environment (Ceremonies, artefacts, etc.);
• Scrum Master Certification (CSM, CSP-SM, SSM, etc.); One is required, not all
• Knowledge of modern protocols and APIs (REST/YAML etc.);
• Strong working knowledge of Atlassian product suite including Jira and Confluence;
• Ability to differentiate between theory and practicality on agile principles
• A proven ability in clearly communicating complex solutions;
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to speak to both business and technical team as well as clearly translate ideas between them;
• Experience working in continuous delivery and continuous deployment enabled setups;
 
Nice to Have:
• Bilingual; (French is mandatory – Must be able to understand English – a speaker who is 5/10 is sufficient)
• Previous IT experience in the banking industry (data integration);
• Previous experience with an MDM (Master Data Management) environment;
• Familiarity with Scaled Agile Frameworks such as SAFe or DAD;
• Prior experience working in a fast-paced organization;
• Knowledge in integrating systems running in different environments;
• Experience with automated testing frameworks and hands-on experience setting up an automated testing practice;
• Experience with DevOps practices and hands-on experience setting up DevOps pipelines and practice;
