Distribution Manager-Edmonton
 
As a Distribution Manager you coordinate logistics and distribution activities for the retail stores, distribution/recycling centers. You are responsible for the management and flow of resources from origin to destination through the integration of trucking and warehousing, as well as coordinating the storage and movement of product through established distribution processes. You provide leadership and mentoring to the distribution and recycling center teams to ensure maximum efficiency while maintaining exceptional guest service to the stores and donors.
 
Distribution Manager:
-review production expectations/progress
-Review and approve invoices for payment
-assist with monitoring distribution centre maintenance
-plan trailer switches and rotation  of commodities on trailers into  door for loading and off loading
-liase with outside brokers
-complete invoicing; submit originals to  head quarters and prepare and mail originals to customers
-complete and review distribution spreadsheets
-review monthly results and compare against budgets adjust accordingly
-review listings and address discrepancies if necessary
 
Logistics:
-check GPS address peculiarities
-review cameras and note peculiarities and note patterns both locally and at stores
-confirm truck schedules
-prepare bills of lading for shipping
-receive orders and prepare paperwork
-schedule and co-ordinate transport trailer contractor and update tracking
-supervise daily trucking conference calls with the different department managers
-review daily store needs and truck requirements
Human Resources:
-update attendance calendar with previous days absences
-deal with any performance or disciplinary measures
-prepare bi-weekly time sheets for distribution and trucking staff, monitors and approves temporary staffing charges
-update attendance records, address patterns and poor performance
-performance reviews for distribution and trucking staff
-recruit distribution and trucking staff
 
As Required:
-assist with quotes for capital equipment and select winning bids
-serve as non-profit representative on local committees
-negotiate terms for supplies, service cvontracts, trailer storage,  trailer leases commodity purchases sales
monitor issues that affect the business including trucking regulations, environmental regulations, customs and excise regulations, insurance and  local bylaws
-repair and maintenance of facility and equipment when and where able.
