MaxSys is currently looking for an Engineering Graduate, Level 2 for our Federal Client.
Qualifications:
 
Education:
• Secondary school diploma is required
• Must have as a minimum a university undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university (Must provide a copy of degree)
Experience:
• Must have a minimum of sixty (60) months demonstrated experience within the last ninety-six (96) months performing a minimum of three of the following Engineering duties:
o Heavy Vehicles equipment maintenance
o Procurement in heavy military vehicles or heavy commercial vehicles and related equipment
o Life Cycle Management of Equipment
o Applying Engineering Principles (such as testability, maintainability, integrity, integration, ethics, and management)
• Heavy Vehicles equipment maintenance
• Procurement in heavy military vehicles or heavy commercial vehicles and related equipment
• Life Cycle Management of Equipment
• Applying Engineering Principles (such as testability, maintainability, integrity, integration, ethics, and management)
o Performance specifications
o Technical specifications
o Statements of Work (SOW)
o Technical documents
o Technical publications.
• Must have a minimum of thirty-six (36) months demonstrated experience within the last ninety-six (96) months in providing concept development* support services on heavy military vehicles or heavy commercial vehicles and related equipment.
Duties may include, but not limited to:
The work to be performed will be related but not limited to:
• Consult on detailed resolution of technical problems raised by the department
• Consult on the Land Material Assurance Program in investigating incidents, collecting data and information and the preparation and update of the Record of Risk Management document.
• Carry out vehicle and equipment developmental studies and analysis to address obsolescence, vehicle maintenance and equipment.
• Researching regulatory, trade standards and military interoperability standards and associated engineering issues to ensure that the most up to date information is available to equipment teams.
• Co-ordinate the preparation of standard and non-standard repairs, Special Inspections and maintenance with appropriate stakeholders within the government department
• Establish day-to-day technical support to Life Cycle Maintenance Managers to ensure cost effective and efficient solutions of the vehicle and equipment life cycle.
• Liaise with Industry and the contractors regarding innovative solutions related to vehicle maintenance and operation.
• Analyze procurement strategies for vehicle acquisitions.
• Write specifications, purchase descriptions, testing procedures for fleet equipment and vehicles.
• Establish well written and comprehensive Statement of Work (SOW), briefing notes, Request for Proposals (RFP), Expressions of Interest (EOIs) and other documents necessary for the business of the fleet management.
• Participate in Environmental Assessments and other government department initiatives and projects as requested.
• Provide Project Management support in accordance to Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBok) and the government department’s Project Approval Directive.
• Provides engineering support, in the areas of minor projects, equipment maintenance, applied research, project and life cycle management to government departments, agencies, professional and technical associations, and consults with private industry professionals as required.
• Prepares technical, design and tender documentation according to established safety codes, energy efficiency standards & policies, departmental policies and the government department operational requirements for complex, sensitive, critical and specialized requirements unique to the government department operations.
• Operates a personal computer, printer and custom design/analysis software such as Defence Resource Management Information System (DRMIS) used for Materiel Acquisition and Support and Financial and Managerial Accounting business processes, as well as a number of other related processes
• Establish instructions, equipment specifications, reports and correspondence and in the analysis and design phases of a project and life cycle management of the government department equipment.
