MaxSys is currently looking for a Facilities Services Supervisor for our client in the west end of Ottawa.
• Secondary school diploma is required
• BA in Engineering
• Certification / Designation:
o Facility Management Professional (FMP) preferred
o Certified Facility Manager (CFM), International Facilities Management Association (IFMA) preferred
o Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) industry certifications preferred
o HVAC Certification preferred
o 4th Class Power Engineer preferred
The Facilities Services Supervisor with our client plays a key role overseeing the day-to-day operations and budget management of facility services performed by suppliers to ensure they meet the needs of internal customers and adheres to the quality requirements within a medical device manufacturing environment.
• 5+ years of buildings, facilities, utilities service operations (Strong knowledge of facilities operations)
• 5+ years of leadership and people management:
o Strong, proven leadership, interpersonal and communication experience and skillsets
o Good writing and verbal skillsets for communications to management
o Good organizational skills to effectively coordinate operations and maintenance responsibilities in an efficient and effective manner
Duties may include, but not limited to:
The work to be performed will be related but not limited to:
• Manages all aspects of supplier services for the Facility Department including Cleaning, Life Safety, Grounds Maintenance, Cafeteria & Catering, Security, Pest Control, Elevator, Waste Disposal, and others as assigned.
• Oversees activities of contractors, vendor personnel, and suppliers; Monitors contracts for compliance and controls costs; monitors general expenditures; performs inspections to ensure adherence to contract specifications and industry standards.
• Ensure adherence and oversight to the requirements of supplier tasks for the Quality Management System, including documentation, training, etc.
• Respond positively and promptly to requests from internal customers and occupants.
• Assists in facility and space usage planning.
• Assists in EHS tasks, such as scheduling and reporting requirements.
• Develops and maintains emergency/disaster preparedness and recovery plans.
• Supervise all maintenance programs relating to the interior and exterior conditions and appearance of the property.
• Assist in the development of capital budgets for the property. This includes contributions towards a five-year plan of maintenance, facility improvement, and cost reduction initiatives.
