ROLE: Journeyman Automotive Technician (or registered 3rd/4th year apprentice) LOCATION: Nisku, AB TYPE: Permanent Maxsys Staffing & Consulting is very excited to work with one of our Top Clients in Nisku, AB on this Permanent Journeyman Automotive Technician position. This position is open currently due to an upcoming retirement of a long standing employee. Working with the Fleet Manager and the maintenance team, the Journeyman Automotive Technician will be responsible for performing scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance of fleet trucks, trailers and spooling equipment. Fleet equipment is constantly changing with new technology and innovations, so your experience outfitting new vehicles and modifying and updating equipment will be very welcome! WHO YOU ARE: Journeyperson or registered 3rd/4th year apprentice Own tool set Safety conscious Willing to travel to job sites Strong organizational skills Hydraulics/Electrical experience is considered an asset Welding / Fabrication experience is considered an asset Minimum Class 5 license with a clean abstract Good physical condition High level of integrity and work ethic Able to pass a drug and alcohol screen ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform diagnostics, repairs and maintenance on an assortment of light vehicles, light trailers and industrial equipment Test all systems or components ensuring they are secure, safe and working properly Isolate the systems or components that might have caused maintenance issues Maintain efficiency and accuracy in diagnosing and repairing vehicles Follow a checklist to ensuer that each critical part of the vehicle is examined Review work orders and discuss with supervisor Document repairs and maintenance as required Ability to work individually and as a part of a team WHATS IN IT FOR YOU: Competitive compensation package Comprehensive employee benefits package RRSP Matching program All Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Steel-toed boot allowance Any required training Compensation package includes: Annual salary to start of $69,000 Field rate on top of salary of $215/day when working 10-12 hours Travel rate of $150/trip when travelling over 600 km in addition to salary Boot allowance of $150/year Partial cell phone reimbursement Full benefits after 3 months RRSP program with $1000 match option/year after 3 months 2 week s paid vacation OT and banked time off eligible Working hours are 9am – 5pm with a 60 min PAID lunch (or 30 mins and 2 15’s) All required training for site access is provided at no cost to you Opportunities for training through the Canadian/Alberta job grant as it pertains to the scope of work HOW TO APPLY: Click apply now!
