Day to Day Responsibilities Partnering with multiple technical teams and clients to build, optimize, and maintain highly available, production network infrastructure to ensure maximum uptime for clients. The role can include designing system configurations, documenting and managing the installation of a new network, and maintaining and upgrading existing systems as necessary. More specifically: • Designing, building, testing, implementing, and optimizing highly available network infrastructure in accordance with business and application requirements, security policies and best practices • Analyze and resolve network problems in a timely and accurate fashion, including issues related to OSPF routing • Continuously assess the network architecture as part of the growth road map • Pro-actively offers proposals to improve the network • Troubleshoot LAN, WAN routing-related issues in an accurate and timely fashion. • Participate in the post-mortem analysis and propose changes that will prevent similar issues from occurring in the future • Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS, Wireless Devices) • Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations • Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability • Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning • Provide support and troubleshooting to resolve issues • Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure Qualifications required: • 5+ years of hands-on network engineering experience CCNP or higher. • Experience designing, implementing and testing highly available wide-area and datacenter networks; CCIA/JNCIE-level certification or experience • Deep understanding of networking communications (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS, GRE) • Preferred vendors: Juniper, Brocade, Aruba Wireless, Solarwinds • Solid understanding of the OSI and TCP/IP models • Solid understanding of VOIP communications. • Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools • Proven experience with wide-area networking, OSPF routing, MPLS and datacenter switching architectures as well as a wide range of vendors such as Cisco and Juniper • In-depth understanding of different network architectures and protocols, their strengths, weaknesses and appropriate use. • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to translate complicated technical concerns to non-technical individuals • Organizational, project and program management planning skills Resumes to s.sharda@maxsys.ca *MST
