Our client in Banking & Finance industry is seeking a Scrum Master in Toronto. This is a 12 months contract position.
 
Job Description
 
1.    SCOPE OF POSITION
The Scrum Manager will be responsible lead the Member Portal Product team working closely with the Product Manager, Solutions Architect and business teams leveraging customized software development life cycle process. This would include Agile Scrum-based Software development, Hybrid Agile based module development along with cross functional communication, software technical project management, requirements traceability, source code control, test case management and defect tracking. This position also defines the metrics to be used to track process improvement with the Product Team. This position may also represent the team at Release level to report status to leadership.
Reporting to Manager, Product Delivery, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Product team and driving progress and productivity.

2.       PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities
•        Guide the team and organization on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values to delight customers.
•        Guiding the team on how to get the most out of self-organization and to fill in the intentional gaps left in the Agile/Scrum frameworks.
•        Implement processes, practices, and tools allow for multiple paths of delivery. I.e., create simplified, consistent, reusable, efficient and flexible methodologies
• Removing impediments or guiding the team to remove impediments by finding the right personnel to remove the impediment.
• Facilitating discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution.
• Assisting with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information.
• Serve as a Coach and Mentor to the team and within the organization
•         Coach and mentor the organization to facilitate adoption and maturity
•         Lead and influence others including those more senior on best practices
•         Inspire others to adopt the new processes and improvements based on program retrospectives
•         Detailed knowledge of development of test cases and knowledge for dispensing technologies like calibration, cartridge management etc.
Technical Requirements/Preferences
•         Worked with software development projects requiring the supporting multiple code stream.
•         Support continuous builds and integration environment (CI/CD) on Agile Product Teams.
•         Knowledge of fountain dispensing technologies and fluids calibration process.
•         Requires excellent oral and written communication skills
•         Lead Agile team with Scrum methodologies with knowledge of embedded SDLC process
•         Knowledge of procedures used to demonstrate the ROI of the solution
•         Knowledge of project management principles and the ability to apply the principles, tools and techniques to develop/plan, manage or execute projects or work plans to ensure successful completion (e.g., on time, within budget).
 
3.    POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Formal Education & Certification
•         University degree in the field of Information
 
Technology or equivalent related job experience.
Knowledge & Experience
•         4+ years Scrum Master experience in any well-known software environment.
•         Preferred 2 years’ minimum experience in Finance, Business Administration, IT or ERP Systems.
•         Demonstrable experience of Scrum Management
•         Knowledge of other Agile approaches: XP, Kanban, Crystal, FDD, etc.
•         Agile technical project management of multiple software releases
•         Planning Experience
•         Stakeholder Management, Negotiation & Communication Skills
•         JIRA/Confluence experience
•         Knowledge of various well-documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach(example: numerous Burndown technologies, various Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc.).
