Our client in the telecom sector is seeking a Server, Software Developer in Toronto on a 1 year contract:
 
Position Description:
Information on Division:
The Wireless Technology Products team within the Network organization is responsible for the technical introduction of new smartphones, data devices
and SIM cards as well as emerging technology initiatives. Responsibilities also extend to the development and operation of
platforms and solutions supporting new device or SIM/eSIM related business and network opportunities.
The role of the contractor, Server, Software developer is to support the development, implementation and operation activities on platforms & solutions,
including SIMOTA, eSIM Subscription Management, Subscriber self-activation and Entitlement Services. The candidate will work in a dynamic
environment together with business groups, device manufactures, and platform vendors to ensure time-to-market delivery of products and new
technologies. As well as, interfacing with different business and technical teams on the development and implementation of solutions to meet business
development and network improvement opportunities.
Job Duties/Accountabilities

Reporting to the Senior Manager – SIM Technology and Strategy in the Wireless Technology Products organization, the successful candidate will be
responsible for:
Support operations of Entitlement/SIM enabler platforms, including establishment/monitoring of platform metrics, support for maintenance
activities, trouble-shooting /resolution of issues as required
Performs critical analysis, cross functional issue investigation/resolution, and demonstrate success in delivering tools, processes, and technical
resolutions to team/product challenges based on impact (time, resources, cost) as a priority
Lead effective cross-functional engagement, participating on project calls with stakeholders from other teams, taking appropriate accountability
/ownership for aspects of projects that require WTP engagement/troubleshooting and leading where appropriate to move a project forward
Act as a key interface between business and technology organizations on development, implementation and support activities
Develop & manage relationship with technology suppliers/partners on development, implementation and support activities
Assess, design, implementation, integration and testing of Entitlement and SIM/eSIM enabler platforms, solutions and features in the network
Be part of framework development/enhancement for continuous improvement of assessment, design, implementation, integration, testing and
lifecycle management support of Entitlement and SIM/eSIM enabler platforms.
Show effective use of listening skills with behavior of openness to respect everyone’s view point
Critical Qualifications/Competencies

University degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software/Computer Engineering or equivalent
Minimum 4 years industry experience, preferably in the Wireless communications area
Computer programming background, with experience and demonstrated competency, including familiarity with Linux, Java, Ruby, Python, HTTP,
REST
Experience in requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing and trouble-shooting of software solutions
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent communication skills for collaboration with different business and technology stakeholders
Experience in creation and maintenance of technical documentations
Knowledge and experience in Agile, Scrum and DevOPS environment
A team player and willing to show initiative
A quick learner and able to move into new technologies quickly
Aptitude to understand Industry Standards and emerging Technologies such as eUICC/eSIM, 5G, Openstack, etc.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to lead the assigned activities which involves internal/external team members
Data analysis and innovative mindset/skills
Knowledge on the business, products and services relevant for your assigned role
Preferred Qualifications/Competencies

Previous experience on solution development and introduction in mobile networks
Knowledge of the Mobility’s network infrastructure and technologies
Knowledge and experience of software development on Microservices, Openstack architecture
Experience with database / search technologies such as Couchbase, Elastisearch and Splunk
Experience in applying scrum/agile methodology
Poss of temp to perm. Top 3 skills platform/servers experience, Linux scripting experience, networking technologies such as openstack, vmware, etc. Work remote during COVID – however on-boarding training may be required at the office- Creekbank.
