PRIMARY JOB FUNCTION
Responsible for managing projects and initiatives related to global logistics systems and processes to optimize efficiency and align distribution strategies in order to support global business operations. Leverage expertise in import, export, customs, traffic and distribution to achieve cost effective solutions and best-in-class service levels. Manage relations with the client International affiliates and distribution partners.
Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional policies and procedures
Independently contributes to large, complex projects with broad organizational impact. Leads projects of moderate complexity and scope. Balances the needs of multiple users to define business requirements, develops and assesses alternatives or new processes, and recommends most effective solution. This usually includes coordinating activities across functional groups.
Responsible for managing relationships with the clients International affiliates and distribution partners.
Applies seasoned import, export, traffic and distribution knowledge to achieve effective solutions, in the areas of customs management, distribution, ERP configuration, and functionality
Manages complex projects related to logistics systems and processes to optimize efficiency
Analyzes freight requirements and institutes an on-going measurement program of selected carrier performance, ensuring follow-up as required to resolve issues.
Ability to identify and evaluate unique ways to improve the organization (cost reductions, use of resources, policies/procedures, products); generating useful new ideas, approaches or techniques.
Provides expert consultation to others with respect to global freight management.
Responsible for aligning distribution strategies with the company direction.
Other miscellaneous duties as may be required.
 
 
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR THE JOB:
Undergraduate University Degree,(3 year program), or equivalent experience
Typically requires 3-10 years of related experience in business, logistics, supply chain or equivalent.
Customs experience working with various regulatory and government agencies.
Experience leading initiatives and/or large project that provide large financial benefits to the organization.
Experience managing customer service & repair organizations is an asset.
Basic computer software like MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) as well as Lotus Notes and Internet
QAD Database knowledge is an asset
 
 
KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of SAP and other ERP business systems.
Knowledge and experience in managing operations impacted by Quality systems.
Understanding the order to cash model.
Knowledge of international customs laws and regulations.
Understanding of various international business models and flow of orders and inventory.
Understand various carriers and freight forwarders service offering
