MaxSys is currently looking for an Engineering Graduate, Level 2 for our Federal Client
• Secondary school diploma is required
• Must have as a minimum a university undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
• Must have a minimum of sixty (60) months demonstrated experience within the last ninety-six (96) months performing a minimum of three of the following Engineering duties:
1. Heavy Vehicles equipment maintenance
2. Procurement in heavy military vehicles or heavy commercial vehicles and related equipment
3. Life Cycle Management of Equipment
4. Applying Engineering Principles (such as testability, maintainability, integrity, integration, ethics, and management)
• Must have a minimum of thirty-six (36) months demonstrated experience within the last ninety-six (96) months in the composing (developing), and writing (documenting) and reviewing of at least three of the following:
a) Performance specifications
b) Technical specifications
c) Statements of Work (SOW)
d) Technical documents
e) Technical publications.
• Must have a minimum of thirty-six (36) months demonstrated experience within the last ninety-six (96) months in providing concept development* support services on heavy military vehicles or heavy commercial vehicles and related equipment.
*Concept development refers to identifying and vetting requirements, generating ideas and methods to select a solution.
Duties may include, but not limited to:
• Consult on detailed resolution of technical problems raised by the DND and the CAF.
• Consult on the Land Material Assurance Program in investigating incidents, collecting data and information and the preparation and update of the Record of Risk Management document.
• Carry out vehicle and equipment developmental studies and analysis to address obsolescence, vehicle maintenance and equipment.
• Researching regulatory, trade standards and military interoperability standards and associated engineering issues to ensure that the most up to date information is available to equipment teams.
• Co-ordinate the preparation of standard and non-standard repairs, Special Inspections and maintenance with appropriate stakeholders within DND and the CAF
• Establish day-to-day technical support to Life Cycle Maintenance Managers to ensure cost effective and efficient solutions of the vehicle and equipment life cycle.
• Liaise with Industry and Defence contractors regarding innovative solutions related to vehicle maintenance and operation.
• Analyze procurement strategies for vehicle acquisitions.
• Write specifications, purchase descriptions, testing procedures for fleet equipment and vehicles.
• Establish well written and comprehensive Statement of Work (SOW), briefing notes, Request for Proposals (RFP), Expressions of Interest (EOIs) and other documents necessary for the business of the fleet management.
• Participate in Environmental Assessments and other DND initiatives and projects as requested.
• Provide Project Management support in accordance to Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBok) and DND’s Project Approval Directive.
• Provides engineering support, in the areas of minor projects, equipment maintenance, applied research, project and life cycle management to DND, other government departments, agencies, professional and technical associations, and consults with private industry professionals as required.
• Prepares technical, design and tender documentation according to established safety codes, energy efficiency standards & policies, departmental policies and DND/CAF operational requirements for complex, sensitive, critical and specialized requirements unique to CAF operations.
• Operates a personal computer, printer and custom design/analysis software such as Defence Resource Management Information System (DRMIS) used for Materiel Acquisition and Support and Financial and Managerial Accounting business processes, as well as a number of other related processes
• Establish instructions, equipment specifications, reports and correspondence and in the analysis and design phases of a project and life cycle management of DND equipment.
