Summary:
 
The Polisher will be responsible for residential and commercial polishing of natural stone countertops and other applications. He or she will be tasked with cleaning and preparing work areas, removing items to be replaced, completing required work in order to facilitate installations. Requirement to use a variety of craft skills including masonry, carpentry and general construction knowledge.  The Polisher must be capable and adept at using a variety of equipment, including power and hand tools.
 
Job DutiesGrind, scrape, sand, or polish surfaces using abrasive tools or machines.Load, unload, and identify building materials, machinery, and tools, and distribute them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans and specifications.Perform other related duties, including minor duties of other trades where certification is not required and the work does not exceed own limitations.Position, join, align, and quartz and granite components.Mix ingredients to create compounds for covering or cleaning surfaces.Lubricate, clean, maintain and repair machinery, equipment, and tools.Read and interpret plans, instructions, blueprints, structural drawings, rough sketches, and specifications to determine work activities.Operate a variety of hand and power tools.Enter workflow status into software.Ensure an adequate supply of material is available for preventative maintenance program.Clean and prepare shop to eliminate possible hazards.
RequirementsOne (1) year of experience as a Polisher, or in equivalent construction related field, is desirableCurrently working in the trade desirableKnowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures.Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner.Strong working mechanical knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenanceAbility to work independently and complete daily activities according to work scheduleAbility to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditionsAbility to work in a team environment with a minimum of supervision
